About the event


Join Amy Baird at the private and peaceful Ooraminna Station Homestead to practice a mindful yoga weekend at the beautiful Ooraminna Station Homestead. 

Amy Baird is trained through Mangrove Yoga Academy and has completed 1440 HRS Diploma of Yoga Training. Amy teaches yoga asana, nidra, pranayama and meditation techniques. 

We welcome you to morning tea on Saturday morning then we move into a 2 day relaxing schedule of enjoyment. Your weekend is inclusive of all meals, camp fees & yoga sessions as you enjoy the privacy and space on 600 acres in the surrounding bushlands. Meditate by the billabong. Take walks and climb the hills to take in the breathtaking views. Last session 2.30pm on Sunday followed by afternoon tea lets you get home in good time, or of course you may finish the weekend with an early dinner on the patio of the Ooraminna Homestead Restaurant.

A greater understanding for you :

Free time – A time to relax and enjoy the serene and beautiful Ooraminna Station. You are on 600 acres of private desert bushland. Listen to the birdlife and absorb the serenity at the Billabong, sit up high on the rock escarpments overlooking the natural beauty of open space, recline and enjoy the peace on the patios of the Homestead.

Meals – All meals will incorporate healthy choices with a vegetarian & Ayurvedic infusion to assist with maintaining wellness during your stay at Ooraminna.

Pranayama  PRANA - life force  YAMA - control

Pranayama practices encourage a systematic understanding of the function of breath within the body. By practicing the control of breath and control of the life force energy one can influence the flow of energy within the body.

Yoga Nidra -  Psychic Sleep

Yoga Nidra is a powerfully restorative meditation, it promotes deep rest and relaxation, encourages greater sleep quality and enhances connection between the conscious, sub conscious and unconscious mind. An half hour Yoga Nidra meditation is considered to be equivalent to three hours sleep!

 Asana - Seat / Posture

Physical postures practiced for greater body mind awareness and enhancement in preparation for Pranayama and Meditation practices.

What to bring – Due to Covid-19 we ask that you bring your oun yoga mat, any personal yoga support items, a swag, blanket & torch if you are camping, warm comfortable clothing appropriate for movement, Sturdy footwear ready for walking, a water bottle, sunhat, sunscreen, journal notebook & pen.

Social distaincing measures will be implemented to ensure your safety and good health.

Most of our sessions will be outside in the wonderful nature of the outback under the sky.

    Amy will welcome you at 10am Saturday 5th September for the forthcoming yoga sessions, meditations, mindfulness, walks and we finish the retreat at 4pm Sunday 6 September, enough time for you to return home relaxed and happy ready for another week ahead!
